Sports Development: Nigeria Volleyball Boss, Nimrod Hails Kwara State Governor, AbdulRazaq As A Role Model
Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq paid a surprise visit to watch Nigeria men’s volleyball team take on Cameroon at the ongoing 13th African Games in Ghana.
While receiving the Governor at the Borteyman Sports Complex, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod commended the Governor for his investment in sports infrastructure.
Nimrod hailed the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum for leading by example and attending the African Games.
He said, “I want to thank His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for coming to watch Nigeria at the African Games. This shows that the Governor is committed to the plight of sportsmen and women in the country.
“The Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum has demonstrated his love and passion for sports. I am aware the Governor approved the renovation of the indoor sports hall.
“I want to assure you that once the multipurpose hall is completed, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation will apply to host our league in Kwara State”.
Nimrod revealed that Offa Volleyball Club, a club in Kwara State is one of the fastest-growing clubs in the country.
He said Kwara State has presented the highest number of private club sides since the rejuvenated volleyball league in 2017.
