Match-winner Oshoala makes history in NWSL
Asisat Oshoala scored Bay FC first-ever goal in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) as they cruised to a 1-0 victory over Angel City FC.
Oshoala netted the winning goal 17 minutes into her debut for the newly acquired team.
The 29-year-old joined Albertin Montoya’s side from Barcelona Ladies last month.
The forward enjoyed a successful spell at Barcelona before making a surprise move to Bay FC in the United States of America.
Oshoala scored 85 goals in 101 league appearances for the Blaugrana.
The former Arsenal and Liverpool Ladies player twice won the UEFA Women’s Champions League title at the club.
She is the reigning African women’s Player of the Year.
