Nigeria forward Paul Onuachu is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks after suffering multiple injuries while in action for Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.
Onuachu sustained the injuries in Trabzonspor’s Turkish Cup clash against Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old was replaced in the 68th minute by Enis Destan.
Trabzonspor have now released a statement on the health status of the forward.
“In the examination of our football player Paul onuachu, who was injured and left the game during the match of our Football A Team against RAMS Başakşehir, a muscle (adductor muscle group) injury in the left groin area and an undifferentiated bone (ulna) fracture in the left forearm due to an impact were detected. Due to the fracture, our player was notified,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
“A treatment program of at least 6 weeks will be applied. The treatment of our player has been started by our medical team.”
Onuachu, who is on loan from English club Southampton, has thus far scored nine goals and provided three assists in 19 appearances for Trabzonspor.
