Lagos SWAN Commends Lagos FA Board Over Initiatives To Growth Football
The Lagos chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has commended a series of initiatives put up by the Fuad Oki-led Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) aimed at tracking the growth and development of the game in the state.
In pursuing international standards, LSFA’s Chairman Ogboni Fuad Oki introduced some laudable initiatives as part of his administration to develop football in the state.
The LSFA has recently partnered with the Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS) to subsidize coaching courses, enabling Lagos State Football Coaches Association members to further their careers.
The chairman, Fuad Oki has also emphasized the LSFA Board’s commitment to revitalizing the Lagos State Football League to fortify the Divisional Football Associations and elevating competitions like the Oba’s Cup and the Ibile Cup to promote the round leather game in the grassroots, adding that “Football in Lagos State serves as a benchmark for others to emulate, and I implore all football enthusiasts not to be deterred by distractions.”
Another innovation of the Oki-led LSFA Board is the football club licensing, which has been embraced by numerous clubs for professional operation.
Chairman of Lagos SWAN, Olatutu Oladunni said since Oki was elected as the chairman of LSFA, the administration of football has taken a great dimension in the state, adding that the Lagos SWAN is ever ready to partner with FA to further deepen a good working relationship that will take the game to the next level in Lagos.
