Napoli will sell Osimhen next summer – Agent Canovi
Veteran agent, Dario Canovi has predicted that Napoli will sell their talismanic striker, Victor Osimhen next summer.
Osimhen penned a contract extension with Napoli on Christmas Eve.
The Nigeria international is now contracted to the Serie A champions until 2026.
The contract also reportedly inserted a release clause in the region of €130m to €140m.
With Napoli struggling to replicate last season’s form which saw them win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years, Canovi stated the 24-year-old will leave the Partenopei at the end of the current campaign.
He further said the contract renewal is to increase the forward’s price tag.
“Napoli have been in difficulty since the start of the championship. In my opinion the departure of (Luciano) Spalletti and (Cristiano) Giuntoli caused what is happening,” Canovi told TMW.
“Having let both of them leave, the club was practically massacred, they were the cornerstones of Napoli who won. Giuntoli and especially Spalletti.
“Osimhen is a renewal that simply serves to increase the price. In my opinion he will go away in June.”
