Lagos will be the centre of attraction as 27 academies will showcase their talents at the U-19 Africa Football Scouting Tournament holding at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan from November 29 to December 3 this year.
Top academies from different parts of Nigeria will engage one another in the tournament which was designed to serve as a pool where opportunities to take their skills abound.
Clubs on parade are Abray Sports, Synergy Ultimate Strikers, Adosag FC, Dd30 Football Academy, Charlesann FC, Kris Football Academy, Baraka FC, Emiloju FC, Shola FC and Paddysco FC.
The programme has been described as arguably one of the biggest in the country.
Others are Team 360 FC, China Sun stars, Moonluck FA, Glorious Day FC, DN10 FA, Turbo Touch FA Kano, Smart city FC, Ikorodu United City FC, Leeds United, Box2Box FC, D Shack FA – Ijebu-Ode, SuperStars FC – Ijebu Ode and M&N Football Academy Lagos.
Also expected to be on the ground are Ajuwa FC, PPF/YSFON Football Academy, Gifted FC and Clique sports FC.
Organiser, MVP Sports Management in partnership with Berlin Sports-Bridge Talent, Germany stated that the programme was necessary at this critical stage of the players’ cycle of development.
Chief Executive Officer of Datti Umar Yusuf said the programme was conceived to give guidance to many young footballers who are selected during the course of the programme.
He said the board of directors of Berlin Sports Bridge for talents based in Portugal and Germany will be on the ground to assess the players and give them the best route to achieving their dreams.
