Ahead of the Nigeria National League coaches’ training schedule for the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, the facilities at the arena have been ranked as world-class by the Director-General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) Professor Olawale Moronkola.
According to the DG, “I’m impressed with the state-of-the-art facilities at the Remo Stars Stadium. The facilities are not only massive, but they are modern compared to what is obtained in most advanced countries.
I have the opportunity to travel to most countries and what I’ve seen here can compete with those we have seen in other parts of the world. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best privately owned sports complexes and other individuals should emulate what Honourable Kunle Soname has done.”
He further affirmed, “Government cannot do it alone, others should equally initiate the building of private facilities like this so that sports can thrive under the best conditions. The NIS is open to partnering with the private sector to grow our sports sector. The NNL Coaches training is the beginning of NIS training the trainers’ courses. We shall continue by taking this course to other parts of the country. Facilities like this must be put to best use.”
The NNL/ NIS coaches training for all the 40 coaches in the NNL will take place from 15th-19th 2023 in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Former Super Eagles players Clement Temile and Austin Eguavoen, Uefa licensed coach Thiago Conde, Professor Olawale Moronkola and Kuhwa Jeremiah are some of the resource persons to be led by Professor Moronkola
