Barcelona Set To Wear Special ‘Rolling Stones’ Jersey For El Clasico

After Drake and Rosalía made appearances on the front of Barcelona’s shirts during matches last season, it appears to be the turn of the legendary rock band ‘The Rolling Stones’ next.

Indeed, RAC1 is reporting that Barcelona will don a special jersey bearing the Rolling Stones image at the front for the upcoming El Clasico against Real Madrid in October.

As part of the agreement with main shirt sponsors Spotify, Barcelona will be wearing shirts depicting logos and symbols of famous music artists.

The Blaugrana have already donned the jersey with the OVO logo of internationally acclaimed rapper and singer Drake for the first El Clasico of the 2022/23 season in October last year.

That was followed by a special edition kit sporting a logo of Spanish singer and songwriter Rosalía’s album, ‘Motomami’ for the second El Clasico of the last season in March earlier this year.

The third such special edition will see the La Liga champions bear a logo representing the legendary British band ‘The Rolling Stones’ for the Clasico which is set to take place on October 28/29.

The Catalan giants and Spotify want to take advantage of the fact that the world release of the band’s new Hackneys Diamonds album is scheduled for October 20, a week before the game.

Barcelona are understood to be close to finalising the details of the agreement with the Rolling Stones before an official announcement is made.

As had been the case with Drake and Rosalia jerseys, the Rolling Stones’ logo will feature at the front and centre of the Barcelona shirt, in place of the Spotify logo.

More details will be made available once an official announcement is made.

Lobi Stars showcased their dominance in possession and created multiple scoring opportunities, ultimately falling 0-1 to Enyimba International FC on Matchday 22 of the Nigeria Premier Football League at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.

Their relentless pursuit of a goal was evident in the numerous free kicks and corners they secured.

Raphael Ayagwa’s impressive volley in the 30th minute left fans on the edge of their seats, anticipating a breakthrough.

However, Enyimba capitalized on a rare chance in the 40th minute, with Ifeanyi Ihemekwele scoring from a through pass to give the visitors the lead.

In the second half, Technical Adviser Daniel Amokachi introduced fresh talent, including Nazir Mohamad, Alex Oche, Ossy Martins, Chikeluba Ofoedu, and Segun Oloruntoba, to bolster the attack. Although they couldn’t break through Enyimba’s defense, the team’s determination remained unwavering.

Following the match, Amokachi expressed his optimism, stating:

“We had an exceptional game in Uyo, and with our new signings, we’re confident in our ability to make a comeback. Although they took their chance, we’ll learn from this experience and move forward.”

Amokachi also acknowledged Bauchi’s rich football history and the state’s contributions to Nigerian football, including notable figures such as Alhaji Sani Ahmed Toro, Maigari, and Patrick Pascal.

“Bauchi has become a second home to Lobi Stars, and we’ll continue to fight. We’ll take this as a learning experience and come back stronger,” he assured.
