Kylian Mbappe has decided that he will stay at Paris Saint-Germain beyond this summer, according to reports in France.

The 24-year-old forward has been the subject of the biggest transfer saga of the summer, with his current PSG deal due to expire in 2024.

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal launched a world-record £259 million bid for the forward, but Mbappe reportedly refused to speak to the club’s representatives.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with making loan moves for the 24-year-old, whom PSG reportedly believe has already agreed terms to join Real Madrid from next season.

The Liverpool interest, however, was played down by manager Jurgen Klopp, who stated in a press conference that the Reds could not afford Mbappe.

However, amid all the interest, Mbappe has come to what has been reported as a ‘final decision’ over his short-term future.

Mbappe makes ‘final’ decision over future

According to French outlet Le Parisien, Mbappe has decided he will stay at PSG, and not move clubs during the current transfer window.

His decision has been described as ‘final’ – meaning it is now up to the French giants over whether to re-integrate him into the team.

RMC Sport have claimed that Mbappe has been training away from the PSG first team as part of a group of ‘undesirables’ – players who have no future at Parc des Princes.

But with one of the top players in the world now seemingly destined to be on their books, whether they like it or not, for next season, PSG and manager Luis Enrique may now have to turn to Mbappe ahead of the beginning of their Ligue 1 season.

However, according to Le Parisien, Mbappe told club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his decision to stay until 2024 – and was told that his playing time would be depleted this term ahead of his departure.
