Star Sports acquires television rights for FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
The sports broadcasting baron, Star Sports has bagged television rights for the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 which is being held in Australia and New Zealand.
As part of the agreement, the programming on Star Sports includes daily highlights of group stage matches and live coverage of all matches from the ‘Round of 16’ onwards which is set to begin tomorrow i.e. August 5.
The media outlet also intends to broaden its tournament coverage by providing regional language commentary for the semi-finals and finals.
Star Sports Select will be the primary channel for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, alongside the marquee football league in England, Premier League (PL) which will begin on August 13. The World Cup will provide another opportunity for football lovers around the country to interact with Star Sports Select.
On the association with the FIFA World Cup 2023, Star Sports spokesperson said, “The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 is the ultimate showcase and celebration of women’s sport. It stands as a beacon of inspiration for girls pursuing, or keen to pursue sport and is a huge draw for millions of fans who desire to watch the best that Football has to offer. Star Sports is the home of sports and the default destination for millions of sports fans.

Star Sports has acquired exclusive rights to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 from rights holder 1Stadia, bringing elite teams and players from the showpiece global event into the homes of millions of hungry fans. Football fans may expect to see elite athletes such as Sam Kerr, Aitana Bonmati, Sophia Smith, Lena Oberdorf, Keira Walsh, Alexandra Popp, Alex Morgan, and Alyssa Thompson among others playing for their respective countries.
Furthermore, viewers will additionally have an opportunity to see remarkable moments, such as thrilling goals and spectacular saves, that will create an indelible impression on them.
