Arda Guler Being Bullied At Real Madrid By Players With Very High Egos

Real Madrid’s dressing room drama has taken a dramatic turn after explosive allegations surfaced claiming Arda Guler is being “bullied” by teammates with “very high egos.”

The accusations come from Serhat Pekmezci, the former Fenerbahce scouting chief credited with discovering the Turkish prodigy. His comments have intensified scrutiny around the atmosphere inside the Santiago Bernabeu.

And if true, this could signal deeper instability at one of football’s most powerful institutions.

Scout Alleges “Mobbing” Against Guler

Speaking to Sports Digitale, Pekmezci claimed that Guler is being subjected to what he described as “mobbing” — a term widely used in Europe to describe workplace bullying or systematic exclusion.

“Arda Guler is being subjected to mobbing,” Pekmezci said.
“It’s not that he complained to me, but he knew this would happen. I told him to be patient.”

While Guler has not publicly addressed the claims, the scout suggests that the hostile environment was predictable given the competitive, ego-driven culture at Europe’s most decorated club.

“Players With Very High Egos”

According to Pekmezci, the issue is not talent — but hierarchy.

Guler joined Real Madrid in 2023 amid enormous hype. The expectation was that the gradual transition from legends like Toni Kroos and Luka Modric would open the door for his rise.

Instead, he has struggled to secure a consistent starting role.

“The harassment came from the players. There is a group there that has not been able to accept Arda; unfortunately, they are players with very high egos.”

Despite limited minutes, Guler has shown flashes of brilliance:

  • ⚽ 3 goals early in the season

  • 🎯 7 La Liga assists

  • 🎯 4 Champions League assists

Yet observers have noted that he often receives the ball less frequently than his movement and positioning demand — fueling speculation about internal dynamics.

Was Xabi Alonso A Casualty Too?

Perhaps the most startling claim is the suggestion that this same dressing room power struggle contributed to Xabi Alonso’s shock departure.

Alonso, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti but was dismissed in January, reportedly struggled to manage the squad’s internal factions.

“That’s why Xabi Alonso left too,” Pekmezci claimed.

If accurate, this paints a picture of player influence extending beyond team selection and into managerial stability — a dangerous dynamic for any elite club.

Arbeloa Yet To Steady The Ship

Following Alonso’s exit, Alvaro Arbeloa was handed the reins. However, Guler’s situation appears largely unchanged.

Tensions were visible during a recent Champions League defeat to Benfica, where Guler was substituted and caught on camera visibly frustrated, muttering to himself as he left the pitch.

Body language rarely lies in elite sport — and the moment sparked widespread debate across the global sports market.

Talent Or Turmoil?

Real Madrid remain one of the most commercially powerful brands in world football. But behind the trophies and revenue streams, squad harmony is critical.

For Guler:

  • He is only 20 years old

  • He remains one of Turkey’s brightest prospects

  • His development years are crucial

If the environment is indeed hostile, Madrid face a major decision:

  • Integrate and protect a generational talent

  • Or risk losing him to a club willing to build around him

A Defining Moment For Madrid

Elite dressing rooms are built on competition — but also unity. When internal politics overshadow performance, even giants can wobble.

Whether these claims are exaggerated or indicative of a deeper fracture, one thing is clear:

Arda Guler’s situation is now firmly under the spotlight.

And at Real Madrid, pressure always finds the surface.
