Roy Keane criticizes Manchester City for loud dressing room music disrupting Liverpool manager Arne Slot post-match interview at Anfield.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has condemned Manchester City for a “lack of respect” after loud music from their dressing room disrupted Liverpool manager Arne Slot’s post-match interview on Sunday.
City secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory at Anfield. Liverpool initially took the lead in the 74th minute through a stunning strike from Dominik Szoboszlai. However, Pep Guardiola’s side mounted a late charge, with Bernardo Silva levelling before Erling Haaland netted the winner in the 93rd minute.
The result puts City six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and keeps the title race heating up.
Keane hits out at Man City
The visitors celebrated enthusiastically with their travelling supporters before continuing the party in the away dressing room. The volume was high enough to be clearly audible during Slot’s media obligations, prompting a sharp rebuke from Keane.
“I will be interested to see if the music is on when Pep is doing his talk,” the former midfielder told Sky Sports. “Man City are entitled to enjoy themselves, but they have to show a little bit of respect. Turn the bloody music down while people are doing press interviews. It is ridiculous.”
City’s resilience praised
Beyond the incident, Keane analysed the significance of the result for the Premier League title race, praising City’s resilience.
“Huge result. Big lift for City. Their record here is not great,” Keane explained. “Pep said before the game, when you come to Anfield you need to show personality and character—and this City team showed it. Particularly in the second half.”
Manchester City’s late comeback not only thrilled their supporters but also added another dramatic chapter to the Premier League title race, while Roy Keane’s comments highlighted the ongoing tension between respect, celebrations, and media obligations.
