Buttering Him Up?! Cole Palmer Gets Special Message From Bruno Fernandes Amid Man Utd Transfer Links After Hat-Trick Heroics At Wolves

Bruno Fernandes may be buttering up Cole Palmer for a potential future move to Manchester United, after the Red Devils captain sent a special message to the Chelsea playmaker on social media. Palmer netted a hat-trick against Wolves, prompting Fernandes – who has seen the England international linked with a move to Old Trafford – to give him glowing praise.

Cole Palmer starring at Stamford Bridge

The Wythenshawe-born Palmer grew up supporting Manchester United and began his professional career at Manchester City. In the summer of 2023, he made a £40 million ($54m) move to Chelsea.

Palmer enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign in west London, scoring 25 goals and earning the PFA Young Player of the Year award. His second season saw him lift both the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Despite speculation about a return to the North West, Palmer remains tied to Chelsea with a contract until 2033.

Fernandes gives hat-trick hero Palmer big billing

Following Palmer’s Wolves performance, Fernandes took to social media to comment: “What a player.” The 23-year-old’s performance earned him another match ball and caught the attention of the Old Trafford captain.

While Manchester United are expected to be active in the summer transfer market, any move for Palmer from a Premier League rival appears ambitious for now.

Palmer and Rosenior respond to transfer rumours

Cole Palmer has downplayed the speculation surrounding his future. Addressing the rumours, he said: “Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don’t they? I don’t pay too much attention to it. You see things. But I feel like I’ve come from a strong place anyway so I don’t pay attention to it.”

Chelsea have no plans to sell Palmer, with the long-term contract ensuring the club benefits from his potential.

Current Blues boss Liam Rosenior also dismissed the rumours, stressing Palmer’s happiness at Stamford Bridge. “I’ve had numerous conversations with Cole and he seems, and is, very, very happy to be here. He is a huge part of our long-term plans, he’s an outstanding player,” Rosenior said.

“There’s no reason for assurance. It’s so unrealistic. It’s come from nowhere. There’s nothing in it. Cole is very happy. Our thoughts are on how we can make this team better, how he can improve and how I can help him. He loves being here and he wants to be a Chelsea player. You can’t stop speculation, but some speculation is so far from the truth.”

Chelsea fans can rest easy knowing Palmer remains committed to Stamford Bridge, while Manchester United fans will have to keep watching from afar.
