“I Hope Not!” – Marcus Rashford Opens Up On First Barcelona Trophy Amid Man United Return Talk

Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona story just hit a major milestone — and he’s in no rush to turn the page.

The England forward has spoken candidly after lifting his first trophy in Barcelona colours, shutting down speculation of a surprise return to Manchester United following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim. With silverware already in his hands and confidence flowing again, Rashford made one thing clear: Spain feels like home.

First Trophy, Fresh Start

Sunday night in Saudi Arabia marked a defining moment in Rashford’s career revival. The 28-year-old played his part as Barcelona edged Real Madrid 3–2 to claim the Supercopa de Espana, delivering Rashford his first piece of silverware with the Catalan giants.

After enduring a difficult final chapter at Manchester United — where he fell completely out of favour under Amorim — Rashford’s smile in Jeddah said it all. From outcast to champion, the transformation has been swift and satisfying.

“Very happy today. It’s always the best feeling to win the first trophy,” Rashford said after the final. “I hope now for the rest of the season we can go on to win some more.”

Shutting Down Man United Return Talk

With Amorim’s exit at Old Trafford sparking fresh rumours about Rashford’s future, the forward was quick to cool the noise. Asked whether this might be his first and last trophy with Barcelona, his response was blunt and telling.

“I hope not.”

It was a clear message to anyone expecting a quick reunion with Manchester United. Despite changes back in England, Rashford’s focus is firmly on Camp Nou, where he feels valued, trusted, and part of something bigger.

Why Barcelona Feels “Perfect” For Rashford

Beyond trophies and goals, Rashford highlighted the unity inside the Barcelona dressing room as a major reason for his renewed joy. Since arriving on loan, he has scored seven goals and become an important piece in the attacking rotation.

“It’s really good,” he said of life at Barcelona. “When we win it makes it so much easier, but even when we’re not playing so well, we stick together and act as a team. For me, it’s perfect. I’m really enjoying my time here.”

Barcelona, for their part, are reportedly open to making Rashford’s stay permanent once his loan expires — a move that increasingly feels inevitable if his form continues.

Gave Everything Against Real Madrid

Rashford may not have found the net in the final, but his work rate didn’t go unnoticed. Operating out wide, he pressed relentlessly and stretched Madrid’s defence before being substituted late on.

Reflecting on a missed chance that could have sealed the game earlier, Rashford was refreshingly honest.

“I had no energy in my legs.”

It summed up a performance driven by sacrifice rather than stats — exactly the kind of effort that wins over fans and coaches alike.

A Story Still Being Written

For Rashford, this trophy is not a destination but a beginning. Confidence restored, form returning, and belief growing, his Barcelona chapter is shaping into one of redemption and resurgence.

And if his words are anything to go by, don’t expect him back in Manchester anytime soon.
