The Super Eagles didn’t just arrive in Morocco for AFCON 2025 — they arrived with presence, pride, and unmistakable Nigerian flair.
As Nigeria’s delegation touched down in Fez on Thursday, they instantly stole the spotlight, stepping off the plane dressed in elegant green senator outfits that celebrated culture, confidence, and class. It was a moment that went beyond football — and CAF noticed.
While several African nations arrived in a mix of team tracksuits and traditional wear, Nigeria once again proved that representing the country means showcasing the full identity: football excellence, rich heritage, and undeniable style.
CAF themselves couldn’t hide their admiration.
“Nobody does it like Naija. We’re so glad you’re here,” CAF wrote on X.
“They say the beauty is in the details. Nigeria nailed every one.”
The praise didn’t stop at photos. CAF shared a full video of the Super Eagles’ arrival, underlining just how impressed they were with the champions’ cultural statement ahead of the tournament kickoff on Sunday.
This isn’t new territory for Nigeria. Over the years, the Super Eagles have mastered the art of blending heritage with modern flair, turning every arrival, unveiling, and walk-in into a cultural showcase. AFCON 2025 is no exception.
On the football side, Nigeria come into the tournament after wrapping up preparations with an international friendly against Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium. Despite a spirited performance, Eric Chelle’s men fell 2–1 to the Pharaohs. Mahmoud Saber opened the scoring for Egypt in the 28th minute before Chidozie Awaziem restored parity late in the first half. A second-half strike from Mostafa Mohamed sealed the win for the hosts.
After a recovery gym session on Wednesday, the Super Eagles quickly shifted focus, boarding their flight to Morocco on Thursday with minds set firmly on the task ahead.
Fez will host all of Nigeria’s Group C matches, beginning with Tanzania on December 23, followed by Tunisia on December 27, and concluding the group stage against Uganda on December 31.
With stars like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Wilfred Ndidi leading the charge, expectations remain high on the pitch. But even before a ball has been kicked, Nigeria have already made a statement.
They’ve arrived with confidence high, culture loud, and style unmatched — and if CAF’s reaction is anything to go by, Morocco should brace itself for Nigeria to dominate both on and off the field.
