Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke celebrate goals for Sevilla ahead of AFCON 2025
Super Eagles forwards Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke sent a clear message to fans and coaches alike as they both found the net in Sevilla’s dominant 4-0 victory over 10-man Real Oviedo in LaLiga action.
The Nigerian duo looked sharp, energetic and confident, showing exactly why they are expected to play key roles for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Sevilla were in complete control of the encounter, taking full advantage after Oviedo were reduced to ten men.
Adams and Ejuke were joined on the scoresheet by Djibril Sow and Batista Mendy, rounding off a convincing performance from the Andalusian side. Akor Adams also turned provider, setting up Mendy’s goal to cap an impressive all-round display.
The emphatic win sees Sevilla climb to eighth place on the LaLiga table, now just four points away from the European qualification spots. For Adams and Ejuke, it was not just about the result, but about timing. With AFCON preparations drawing closer, both players are clearly hitting top form at the right moment.
Their performances will come as a boost to Super Eagles supporters, who are eager to see Nigeria arrive in Morocco with players full of confidence, rhythm and momentum. If this display is anything to go by, Adams and Ejuke are more than ready to carry that form onto the continental stage.
