Chidera Ejuke showcasing his speed for Sevilla in La Liga
Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has boldly claimed he is faster than some of the world’s biggest football stars, including Erling Haaland, Bukayo Saka, Lamine Yamal, and Vinicius Jr.
Ejuke, who joined Sevilla on a free transfer last year, has been working to establish himself in a squad that has faced numerous challenges. In 38 appearances for the Spanish side since his arrival, he has registered two goals and two assists.
Despite modest goal contributions, Ejuke has earned a reputation as one of La Liga’s most effective dribblers, thanks to his exceptional pace and agility on the wing.
In a recent interview, the Nigerian international confidently stated that none of the aforementioned stars could match his speed. He did, however, admit that Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé remains the only player faster than him.
While official speed rankings in La Liga are not publicly available, Ejuke’s blistering pace is reflected in the EA FC video game series, with a pace score of 90, acceleration 91, and sprint speed 89.
Although his speed and dribbling are unquestionable, the 27-year-old winger needs to improve his end product. To make a truly significant impact in his career, Ejuke must become more decisive in the final third by increasing his goal and assist tally.
With his exceptional pace and confidence, Ejuke continues to be one of Nigeria’s most exciting talents in Europe, and he will be one to watch for both Sevilla and the Super Eagles in the coming seasons.
