NBA Africa Announces Five Trailblazing Startups From The Triple-Double Accelerator

NBA Africa has officially revealed the five prize-winning startup companies from the second edition of the NBA Africa Triple-Double Accelerator—an initiative dedicated to boosting Africa’s growing technology ecosystem and empowering the continent’s next generation of innovators.

The competition drew more than 700 applicants from 32 African countries. After a rigorous selection process, the final 10 startups pitched their groundbreaking ideas before a panel of global industry leaders at Demo Day, held at Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa) in Kigali, Rwanda.

The judging panel included CMU-Africa Director Dr. Conrad Tucker, OpenAI Africa Lead Emmanuel Lubanzadio, and senior executives from ServiceNow.


Here Are The Five Winning Startups Leading Africa’s Innovation Charge

1st Place: Reborn (Morocco)

Reborn delivers advanced performance indicators that give athletes a deeper understanding of their physical condition and match performance.
Prize:

  • $25,000 cash

  • Admission into CMU-Africa’s Business Incubation Program

  • $10,000 in API credits

  • Exclusive immersion day with OpenAI’s engineering team in San Francisco

2nd Place: Fitclan (Egypt)

Fitclan is a digital fitness hub driven by a flexible subscription model for both individuals and corporate clients.
Prize:

  • $15,000 cash

  • CMU-Africa Incubation Program

  • $10,000 in API credits

  • Immersion day with OpenAI

3rd Place: Athlon Technology (Egypt)

Athlon uses mobile technology and AI to deliver affordable video analysis for amateur teams—a major upgrade for budget-sensitive sports sides.
Prize:

  • $5,000 cash

  • CMU-Africa Incubation Program

  • $10,000 API credits

  • Immersion day with OpenAI

4th Place: Atsur (Nigeria)

Atsur is bringing blockchain into the African art world, enabling investment opportunities and better support for artists and their communities.
Prize:

  • $2,500 cash

  • CMU-Africa Incubation Program

5th Place: Songdis (Nigeria)

Songdis is offering digital distribution solutions for African independent musicians and labels, giving creators better access to global platforms.
Prize:

  • $2,500 cash

  • CMU-Africa Incubation Program

NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi praised this year’s entrepreneurs for their vision, impact, and creativity, stating:
