Eberechi Eze and Marcus Rashford in England national team training session
Arsenal star Eberechi Eze has opened up on his first training sessions with the England national team, revealing that Marcus Rashford was the player who stood out most to him. Speaking on the latest episode of the Beast Mode On Podcast with Adebayo Akinfenwa, Eze highlighted Rashford’s skill, speed, and composure on the ball.
“I’d say in my first session it was Rashy [Marcus Rashford]. The way he’s striking the ball, the way he’s running with the ball, how he operates… He’s an incredible, incredible player. I enjoy watching him play,” Eze said.
Rashford, who moved on loan from Manchester United to Barcelona this summer, has already made a big impression in Spain. The 28-year-old has provided six assists and scored two goals as the Blaugrana aim to defend their La Liga crown. Eze’s admiration underscores the impact Rashford continues to make, both at club and international level.
Despite Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka and England captain Harry Kane being household names, it was Rashford’s quality and maturity that truly caught Eze’s eye during his initial training sessions.
Eze has also praised Thomas Tuchel for the structure and energy he has instilled in the Three Lions. The former Chelsea boss has led England to a 100% qualification record for the 2026 World Cup, setting the team up to “achieve something incredible” in North America next summer.
“It’s fun working with him because he’s got good energy. He’s a positive character, always giving a good feeling to players around the camp. You feel very comfortable, you feel very relaxed. It helps you to be yourself on the pitch as well. Very clear in what he wants from players… specific positions and how he wants to play,” Eze explained.
The Arsenal star believes the foundation laid by Tuchel is key to England’s chances, emphasizing the clarity and structure that has allowed the team to perform at the highest level.
With stars like Rashford, Saka, and Eze firing on all cylinders under Tuchel’s guidance, England fans have plenty to be optimistic about ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
