Barcelona’s Smart Plan To Keep Lamine Yamal Fit For El Clasico Against Real Madrid

Barcelona are leaving nothing to chance when it comes to their teenage sensation Lamine Yamal. The 18-year-old has been battling a groin injury, but with the El Clasico showdown against Real Madrid fast approaching, the Catalan giants have drawn up a precise recovery blueprint to make sure he’s ready to light up the Santiago Bernabeu.

Yamal’s Road To Recovery

According to Mundo Deportivo, Yamal is training individually at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper under the watchful eyes of Barcelona’s medical team. The plan? Gradually increase his workload while carefully strengthening the groin area to avoid another setback.

The roadmap is clear: limited minutes against Girona later this month, a possible Champions League start against Olympiacos, and then—if all goes well—fully fit for the Clasico on October 26.

Flick’s Faith In His Young Star

Head coach Hansi Flick isn’t hiding how important Yamal is to Barca’s title hopes. He’s made it clear that having the winger ready for the Clasico is “non-negotiable.” Despite his young age, Yamal has shown a level of maturity beyond his years by sticking religiously to the plan and not rushing back.

Spain vs Barcelona: A Tug Of War

Of course, there’s some drama behind the scenes. Spain coach Luis de la Fuente pushed back after Flick’s earlier criticism of how La Roja handled Yamal’s workload, saying he was “surprised” at the lack of empathy. While Spain defend their approach, Barcelona are keeping their jewel wrapped in cotton wool, ensuring he’s ready when it matters most.

The Bigger Picture

With Barcelona chasing Real Madrid in the title race, the Clasico could be season-defining. And if Yamal steps onto the pitch fully fit, Barca fans will believe their young star can once again tilt the balance in their favor.
