Organisers of the Asaba International 10km Road Race scheduled for the capital city of Delta State, Asaba, have just released details of the routes of the marathon race, which holds on Saturday, 4 October 2025.
This event is organised to commemorate the first anniversary of the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge SAN.
The event’s consultant, Mr. Moses Nwanze, CEO of Lexicon, says in a statement on Monday that the “race commences in front of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, proceeding down Ibusa Road.
“Participants will then execute a right turn onto DLA Road, continuing all the way to Summit. A subsequent right turn onto Summit Road leads across the Interbua Bridge.
“Following this, a right turn onto Anwai Road will direct runners straight down the one-way Nnebisi Road, culminating back at Stephen Keshi Stadium.”
He disclosed that certified route markers from the athletics federation have come to Asaba for route marking and measurements.
The organisers anticipate approximately 40,000 athletes to participate in the inaugural edition. Among whom are amateur runners, fun-seeking runners, elite runners from African nations such as Kenya, Ethiopia and a host of others.
The event aims to rebrand Asaba through sports, leveraging the influx of athletes, scouts, and spectators to boost the local economy, as the event will also offer a venue for networking, exposure, and cross-cultural exchange.
