Yeremy Pino Joins Palace From Villarreal
Crystal Palace have signed Spain winger Yeremy Pino from Villarreal in a deal worth up to £26m.
The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract, and will be available for Sunday’s Premier League fixture at Aston Villa.
Pino had a £69m release clause, but with there being less than two years left to run on his contract, Villarreal decided to accept Palace’s offer.
“It’s fantastic news that Yeremy – an exciting young talent, with already such an impressive record in domestic, European and international football – has chosen us as the next step in his career,” said Palace chairman Steve Parish.
“With an exciting season ahead for the club, competing on multiple fronts, he is a player whose talents Palace fans will particularly appreciate – and I look forward to seeing him step out at Selhurst Park.”
Pino, who came through Las Palmas’ youth set-up, made 133 appearances for Villarreal after his debut in 2020.
He scored four goals in 34 league games last season to help the side finish fifth and qualify for the Champions League.
Pino has also scored three goals in 15 matches for Spain since making his debut in 2021.
His arrival at Palace follows England forward Eberechi Eze’s £60m move to Arsenal last week.
He becomes just the Eagles’ third summer signing, after goalkeeper Walter Benitez’s arrival from PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer and defender Borna’s Sosa’s £3m move from Ajax.
However, they have made a move for Manchester City’s 30-year-old Switzerland defender Manuel Akanji.
