The boss gets recognized with a major award in his homeland
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has been named Coach of the Year by prestigious German newspaper Bild in the at the 2025 SPORT BILD gala, a major recognition for the Barça boss in his homeland.
Flick could not attend the ceremony in Hamburg but participated via video conference from Barcelona, and gave a speech totally deflecting the credit onto his coaching staff and players, exactly as you’d expect from Hansi.
“As head coach, you’re on the front line. You get criticised, but you also get praised when things go well. That’s just how it is. I’m very confident in what I do, but it takes a strong coaching staff around you to do an excellent job. And I have that here in Barcelona. Plus, it’s a lot of fun working with these people.
“I think that’s what drives me, seeing the players every day, staying in contact with them. That’s the most important thing for me.”
