Chelsea star Cole Palmer has unfollowed his girlfriend Connie Grace on social media amid rumours of tension in the couple’s relationship. Earlier this month, Palmer admitted that he was going through a rough patch ‘on and off the pitch’, which further fuelled the speculation. He recently starred in the Club World Cup final as the Blues beat Paris Saint-Germain to win the title.
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to a report from Glam Set & Match, the English attacker has potentially ended his three-year-long relationship with Grace after he unfollowed and blocked the Manchester-based manicurist and influencer on social media. It adds that Grace also unfollowed Palmer’s sister a few weeks back.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Grace reportedly travelled to the U.S. to support to watch Palmer in action for Chelsea in the Club World Cup but was hardly seen at the club’s matches. Before the final, the 23-year-old attacker had even admitted that he was going through a rough patch ‘on and off the pitch’. The England star, however, stole the limelight in the showpiece as his brace and an assist helped the Blues unexpectedly clinch the trophy.
WHAT PALMER SAID
After scoring in the quarter-final against Palmeiras, Palmer ran to Tosin Adarabioyo on the bench to celebrate. He later explained the gesture by telling reporters: “That’s my boy. Obviously, I’ve had a difficult time these past whatever months on and off the pitch, but he’s always been there for me and he’s helped me a lot. So, yeah, I just thought I’d go over to him.”
WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?
Enzo Maresca’s side are set to take on Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan in two pre-season friendly matches next month before formally kicking off the 2025-26 campaign on August 17 against Crystal Palace.
