Napoli Fans Insult Osimhen As ‘Peasant’
Napoli ultras sent a harsh message to Victor Osimhen as his transfer to Galatasaray looks to become permanent, calling him a ‘peasant.’
The striker made his name with the Partenopei after the €80m transfer from Lille in 2020, but declared last summer that he would never again play for the club.
When none of the big teams came in for him, the Nigeria international joined Galatasaray on loan as a stop-gap solution.
Now he is trying to force through a full transfer to Istanbul for €75m, even handing in a medical note to avoid attending Napoli’s pre-season training camp.
Osimhen attitude irritated Napoli fans
With that gesture in mind, ultras representing the Curva A of the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona sent a message with a banner today.
“Osimhen, ignorance will always be the ruling element in your life… Peasant, remember that Maradona played here!”
It is now a countdown to the final exit of the player from Napoli, although they are insisting that Galatasaray accept a clause forcing them to pay a hefty penalty if Osimhen moves back to Serie A within two years.
This is squarely aimed at Juventus, who had been heavily linked with an offer for the 2023 African Player of the Year, much to the fury of Napoli.
