Betis Set Terms For Real Madrid Midfielder Signing

Real Betis have made their stance clear regarding the possible return of Dani Ceballos.

According to a recent report from Fichajes, the La Liga club will only consider signing the Real Madrid midfielder if Los Blancos agree to let him leave on a free transfer.

On top of that, Betis would expect Ceballos to take a pay cut of nearly 50% to fit within their current wage structure.

Ceballos, who started his career at Betis, has openly expressed his desire to return to his boyhood club. The midfielder has had limited opportunities under Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid and is keen to restart his career in Seville.

However, Betis have no plans to raise false hopes, as they have done in past transfer windows.

The club’s board has been very direct that they will not get involved in complicated negotiations or make financial sacrifices that could disrupt their plans.

Betis have other priorities

At this moment, Ceballos is not a top priority for Betis. The club’s sporting directors are focusing on replacing William Carvalho and Johnny Cardoso, who are both expected to leave soon.

Their exits will free up space in the squad and help reduce the wage bill, but Betis want to keep their transfer strategy simple and realistic.

Ceballos still has a contract with Real Madrid until 2027, and while he has publicly shared his dream of returning to Betis, the final decision depends on more than just his wishes.

Unless he agrees to a significant salary reduction and Madrid let him go for free, Betis won’t pursue the deal.

For now, Ceballos’ return to Betis remains a possibility for the future, but not a move that is close to happening.

If things change towards the end of the transfer window, the door could open, but at present, it is more of a dream than a real plan.
