The goalkeeper is back from his holiday
Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been spotted back at Barcelona after returning to the club after the summer holidays.
The Germany international was spotted driving into the Ciutat Esportiva as speculation over his future continues to rage.
Barcelona have signed Joan Garcia this summer and handed Wojciech Szczęsny a contract extension, suggesting Ter Stegen is very much surplus to requirements.
Hansi Flick is also expected back at the club imminently and is expected to hold showdown talks with Ter Stegen over his future.
The feeling is that Ter Stegen is determined to stay and battle for his place, but Flick will tell him that he won’t play if he does decide against leaving this summer.
Flick also still has Inaki Pena on the books right now, meaning – as things – stand – he has four first-team goalkeepers in his squad.
Something needs to give soon, particularly with pre-season set to start next week.
