Osimhen Set For Napoli Medical Amid Surprise Club Resolution
Victor Osimhen has been linked with many clubs this summer, as he is expected to leave Napoli. Meanwhile, the Serie A champions have made a surprise decision regarding the Super Eagles star, according toSoccernet.ng.
Osimhen is coming off an impressive one-year loan stint at Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists to help them win the Super Lig and the Turkish Cup.
Osimhen had to leave Napoli for Galatasaray after coach Antonio Conte excluded him from the team for the season, following a heated transfer saga last summer.
At the time was linked to top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Al Hilal, and Juventus, but despite wanting to leave, he didn’t get his desired move.
This summer, after his great loan spell at Galatasaray, speculation about his future has continued.
All the clubs previously linked with the 26-year-old are still interested. Galatasaray has also joined the pursuit, willing to break the bank to land Osimhen permanently.
According to Le Marca Sports, Napoli will call up Osimhen for their pre-season. Before that, he will undergo a medical examination at the club between July 14-15, as is customary for most clubs.
This means the Super Eagles star will play pre-season games with Napoli unless he gets a move before then.
Will Victor Osimhen still leave Napoli?
One thing is certain: Victor Osimhen wants to leave Napoli, with the Premier League seeming to be his most preferred destination.
However, the issue has been protracted, and it doesn’t look like it will be resolved soon, as top European clubs in need of strikers don’t seem to have Osimhen at the top of their list.
Nonetheless, things can change quickly in the transfer market. Osimhen will hope to get his transfer soon so he can adjust seamlessly to his new club before the start of the next season.
