Official: Roma, Ghisolfi Part Ways

On the job for only 13 months, Florent Ghisolfi and Roma parted ways this morning, paving the way for the return of Frederic Massara as the club’s new director.

Spring is a season of change. Whether we’re talking about flowers blooming, children graduating from school, or swapping a winter cold for seasonal allergies, spring is rarely a time for stasis. This trend also applies to professional football, where our beloved Giallorossi are undergoing a top-down revolution.

After officially introducing new manager Gian Piero Gasperini to the Roman press yesterday, the club quickly found itself swimming in a sea of rumors. However, instead of worrying about which players will thrive under Gasperini or which transfer targets he prefers, the focus shifted to the man seemingly responsible for providing Gasperini with what he needs, Director of Sport Florent Ghisolfi.

Hired in May 2024, Ghisolfi had the misfortune of joining the club during a tumultuous period, witnessing the departure of both his manager and CEO following a behind-the-scenes feud. Talk about being thrown into the deep end—Ghisolfi lived through the full Roma Happened experience in just over four months!

And now the curse that has seemingly enveloped this club over the past decade has set its sights squarely on Ghisolfi, who left the club amicably earlier today. From the incredibly terse club press release:
