Super Eagles Star Hints At Nantes Exit Via Cryptic Post

Super Eagles and FC Nantes forward, Moses Daddy-Ajala Simon, has sparked talks about his future at the French club following his recent social media post, according to Soccernet.ng.

The 29-year-old just came off the back of his most prolific career, scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists in 32 Ligue 1 games to keep FC Nantes in the French top-flight.

Moses Simon has been linked with several clubs like Everton and newly-promoted side, Paris FC, and his cryptic social media post hinted his future will be away from FC Nantes.

The former Levante man has a deal running till June 2026, and Nantes are weighing up a new offer for the pacy winger. He took to his official X account to thank the fans of the club for the past years he’s spent with them.

“This season is ending, and it will remain etched in my heart. This last one had a special flavor for me, since I had the chance to reach 201 matches in the colors of this legendary club that I love so much. All this is thanks to God,” the AFCON 2023 finalist wrote.

In a recent interview with Sportsboom, the fleet-footed winger cleared the air about his future at the French club.
“A club that respects you, that shows you love, of course you have to respect them and fight for them in return.

“Nantes respect me a lot especially when I was injured, they were always there for me alongside their supporters.

“They are a big and historic club, and a former Nigerian player, Samson Siasia, played there. It’s just unfortunate that things haven’t been going well, as we’ve been fighting against relegation for the last five years.”

“I have a lot of love and respect for the club, but like any player, I’m always open to new challenges in life.

“If I receive an offer and Nantes agree to it, I would definitely consider making a move. However, if the club decides not to accept any offers, I will fully respect my contract because I am still their player.

“My main focus is to keep playing and enjoying the game. At the end of the day, football is about passion and having fun on the pitch, and that’s what matters most to me,” the FC Nantes winger concluded.

Moses Simon captained the Super Eagles at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, and scored the opening goal as Nigeria defeated Jamaica to clinch the 2025 Unity Cup title.
