Galatasaray VP: We’ll Pay What It Takes For Osimhen

Galatasaray Vice-President Abdullah Kavukcu has revealed that the club is willing to match Victor Osimhen’s wages and pay his release clause in the summer.

Osimhen future has been one of the hottest topics in Turkey recent weeks. The Super Eagles star joined Galatasaray from Napoli last summer in a season-long loan. And since he joined, he has lived up to the hype, leading the club in talismanic fashion.

The Super Eagles striker has contributed 36 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances for The Lions, helping Galatasaray claim the Super Lig and Turkish Cup trophies.

Now, with the season ending, Osimhen is supposed to return to Napoli. Then from there, he is expected to get a permanent transfer to a club in one of the top five European leagues.

Some top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Juventus have been linked with the former Lille man, but nothing concrete has emerged yet.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray have also been in the mix. In fact, the fans have been making moves to convince Osimhen to sign for them permanently despite fears that it could affect their finances.

In a new development, Galatasaray’s Vice President Kavukcu has confirmed that the club have been making moves to get Osimhen services permanently and they are willing to pay his release clause and match whatever his other European suitors are offering him.

“We talked to my president about Osimhen in January,” Kavukcu said, per A Spor.

“We told Osimhen in January, ‘We want you very much, don’t go anywhere. We are working to get your transfer.’

“We are developing projects for this. We developed them to sit at that table and we are at that table right now. We are ready to get his transfer and pay the salaries he will receive from Europe.”

Should Victor Osimhen stay at Galatasaray?
Victor Osimhen is probably in the toughest position he has been in his entire career. Galatasaray fans have showered him love and gifts in a bid to convince him stay at the club.

On the other hand, there is the hunger to rub shoulders with the big boys in Europe and play in the biggest and most watched tournaments. Clearly, Galatasaray can’t offer him that.

The 26-year-old hitman is a big fan of the English Premier League, so he would prefer a move there.

Moreover, if Osimhen wants to be considered for the top individual awards like the Ballon d’Or and the CAF Player of the Year, he has to be playing in one of the top five leagues.

The decision that Osimhen will make this season could catapult him to the pinnacle or put his as bang average.
