Hakimi Believes They ‘Deserve’ UCL Final Spot Before Arsenal Clash
Achraf Hakimi has come out with a bold claim ahead of the second leg of PSG’s Champions League semi-final against Arsenal, saying that the Parisians ‘deserve’ to be in the final.
PSG have arguably been the form team in the world in the last few months and currently hold a 1-0 lead over the Gunners after the first leg.
The Moroccan star said: “We know that tomorrow is going to be a very special night for everybody in Paris. The atmosphere will be insane inside and outside the stadium. Everybody will be behind us and want to send a message that is really clear.
“They have to cheer us until the very last minute. We will give our everything to make them proud. We really want to get this objective of going to the final. We deserve it because of all the work we have done.”
Hakimi also said PSG are feeling assured ahead of the big game: “I think the team is really confident. We really want the game to start, and we are really impatient to show what we can do. The Parisians will come to the final and we really want the game to start now.
“We know we are just one step away from the final. There is a calm because we played in the semi-finals last year and we know what we did good and what wasn’t so good. We know what we have to do in terms of dynamics.”
A major boost for the hosts is that star player Ousmane Dembele will be fit for the clash. And Hakimi was full of praise for the Frenchman.
“Dembele is a very different player. He is one of the players that make you want to go to the stadium. He is a genius with the ball and with very little chances he can decide a game.”
