Taiye Taiwo Inducted into Marseille Hall of Fame

Former Nigerian international Taiye Taiwo has been inducted into Olympique Marseille’s prestigious Hall of Fame.

The French Ligue 1 club announced the honor on their X handle, celebrating Taiwo’s contributions during his time at the club.

“Taye Taiwo is in the house tonight as the former Olympien and Super Eagle is inducted into the #OMLegends club,” the club stated.

Taiwo, 39, joined Marseille in January 2005 from the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL). He went on to make 271 appearances for Les Phocéens, scoring 25 goals and providing 23 assists.

The left-back was instrumental in the club’s successes, winning the Ligue 1 title, the French League Cup, and the French Super Cup.

After six successful years in France, Taiwo moved to Serie A giants AC Milan in 2011, continuing his remarkable football career.
