Marcus Rashford has completed a loan move from Manchester United to Aston Villa, where he will stay until the end of the season. The deal includes an option to buy for £40 million.
Before sealing the move to Villa Park, the 27-year-old forward had been linked with top European clubs, including AC Milan, Napoli, Dortmund, and Barcelona.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Rashford described joining Aston Villa as an “easy decision” due to his admiration for the team’s style of play and the ambitions of manager Unai Emery.
“I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen,” Rashford said.
“I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the manager’s ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.”
He also extended his best wishes to Manchester United, saying, “I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”
Rashford now hopes to make his Aston Villa debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup next weekend.
