Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has heaped praise on the club’s Brazilian star, Vinicius Jr., lauding his transformation into one of the world’s best footballers.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the former Los Blancos captain acknowledged Vinicius’ early struggles at the Santiago Bernabeu, highlighting how the forward overcame criticism to become a key figure for the club.
“As a Real Madrid fan, I would like Vinicius to stay at Madrid. He has had a fantastic evolution since he arrived,” Casillas said. “At first, he was the subject of laughter and mockery every now and then, but he himself has become one of the best players in the world, and I hope it continues like that.”
Casillas also expressed hope that Vinicius would remain with Real Madrid despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, emphasizing his importance to the team’s future.
Vinicius Jr. joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018 and has been instrumental in the club’s successes over the years. His journey from a promising teenager to a global football star has earned admiration from fans and football icons alike.
