NO PRESSURE! The Goals Will Come, Mbappe Assures

Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has said that there is “no pressure” for him at his new club, and he joined the club “to be Kylian” rather than anyone else.

Mbappe, 25, moved to Madrid from PSG over the summer on a blockbuster free transfer, with the World Cup winner going on to score on his debut against Atalanta in the European Super Cup.

However, he went goalless in his first three La Liga matches as Real dropped points in draws against Mallorca and Las Palmas.

But Mbappe finally got on the scoresheet on Sunday as he scored both goals in his team’s 2-0 win over Real Betis and said afterwards to reporters that he didn’t feel pressure.

“The pressure I have is to adapt to the team,” he explained.

“I’ve scored goals all my career, I’ll score goals for sure. The goals will come. Three games [without scoring] are a lot for me, but it’s OK, I have the confidence of my team-mates.

“There’s no pressure, it’s football,

“I have my quality. I’m here to be Kylian. There’s no pressure. I’m happy, I want to work.”

The forward also told Real Madrid TV that it “was a great moment,

“I’ve been waiting to score at this legendary stadium, the best in the world. The fans give me a lot of affection, even when I wasn’t scoring.”

His manager Carlo Ancelotti was delighted to see his new signing get off the mark, as well as praising Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr for letting Mbappe take the penalty that saw him score another.

This came after Vinicius had been the penalty taker in the game against Las Palmas in midweek and having won the penalty against Betis.

“We’ve never put pressure on him to score goals,” Ancelotti said at his press conference.

“Kylian had a good game. He was very effective in the area, he took his chances, he worked hard.

“It was important for him to score, but we evaluate the collective work.

“Vinicius was very altruistic, letting Kylian take the penalty, They have a good relationship.”

The win against Betis pushed Madrid up to second in the table on eight points, but still four points behind leaders Barcelona.
