Katsina To Hosts National YSFON Soccer Tournament

Katsina State Governor Mal Dikko Umar Radda has approved the sponsorship and hosting of the National YSFON Soccer Tournament to be organized by Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria in Conjunction with Katsina State ministry of Sports and Youths development and the State YSFON organization.

The commissioner of Sports and Youths development Mal Aliyu Lawal Zakari disclosed this during the press conference organized ahead of the upcoming tournaments.

The Under 18 Youth tournament expected to be participated from all the 36 states of the federation and the FCT is billed to hold between 7th to 12th of May 2024 in katsina State.

Similarly the governor has also approved the released of substantial amount of money for the annual Governor’s Cup competition involving all the 34 Local Governments areas of the state with a view of promoting and uplifting the standard of sporting activities from across the state.

Hosting of the two major events will serve as an avenue for fostering brotherhood and mutual understanding among the participating LGAs.

It will also create a forum towards scouting for the hidden talented players capable of representing the State in future national competitions or to be engaged by the state premier league club, Katsina United FC.

The Sports commissioner Mal Aliyu Lawal Zakari use the opportunity to enjoy all the participating teams to be good ambassadors while representing their areas during the tournament and appealed to organizers to be fair and just in the course of their assigned responsibilities.
