Inter Milan are now prepared to loan out youngster Ebenezer Akinsanmiro ahead of next season in a bid for the young Nigerian midfielder to gain more valuable first-team experience, according to website Gazzetta Italia.
The Nerrazuri had rejected loan offers from clubs in Serie A and Serie B for the Nigerian, who has been outstanding in the Primavera, Inter’s youth team, scoring five goals and two assists in 19 games.
He made his Serie A debut for Inter last Sunday, coming on for Davide Frattesi in the 76th minute as Inter trounced Lecce 4-0.
Akinsanmiro had earlier played 67 minutes for Inter’s Primavera’s side before flying with the first team to Lecce.
During his cameo appearance, the 19-year-old had 13 touches and made one key pass in the win that helped Inter Milan maintain their nine-point lead at the top of the table and put them on course for their 20th domestic title.
“He’s been training with the first team and the club will be evaluating what is best for his future, which we believe is to go out on loan and develop better,” the Italian daily wrote.
“Inter will decide his future in June. Akinsanmiro is a player who needs playing time and to feel important.”
The box-to-box midfielder is highly rated at Inter after the Italian giants reportedly paid Remo Stars €800,000 to sign him.
He followed in the footsteps of Nwankwo Kanu, Taribo West, Obafemi Martins, Isah Eliakwu, Victor Obinna, Obiora Nwankwo, Joel Obi and Victor Moses, who all played for Inter Milan.
