Newly elected Vice President of Tug of War Nigeria Federation, ACP Bashir Abubakar has commended the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun for supporting sports development in the country especially Tug of War.
ACP Abubakar made the commendation in his goodwill message to the executive board members as the Ist Vice President.
He stressed that Tug of War sport has become a household name in the Nigeria Police Force and by extension, Nigeria courtesy of the Inspector General of Police hence he cannot thank him enough.
ACP Abubaka, pleaded with the stakeholders to reciprocate IGP’s goodwill by making discipline their watchword.
Reacting, the President of Tug of War Nigeria Federation, Mr. Isaac Osaikhiwe Isaac expressed his gratitude to the Nigeria Police for their positive contributions to the development of Tug of War Sport in Nigeria and promised that the body will continue to collaborate with the force.
The election which was held at the Conference room of the Nigeria Olympic Committee during the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the federation, was declared open by the Secretary General of the NOC, Hon. Babatunde Popoola who was accompanied by the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tony Nezianya.
With ACP Bashir Abubakar elected alongside the President, Isaac Osaikhiwe Isaac. Other elected executives include Rear Admiral Etop Ebe (2nd Vice), Babatoba Samuel (Technical Director), Shola Ogundele (Treasurer), Jude Iduh (National Coach), Tombiri James (Asst National Coach) and Raymond Akparuerer (PRO).
Others are Ibrahim Umah, Jennifer Udeh, Daniel Ohioma and Musa Abdullahi while Mr. Abdulkareem A Macaulay returned as the Sec. Gen/ International Rep.
