According to the arrangement, FIFA+ will also be providing coverage of the Coppa Italia Serie C tournament and Supercoppa Serie C.
The digital streaming platform of the world’s football governing council, FIFA+ has obtained non-exclusive distribution rights of the Italian third-tier football league, Serie C.
According to the arrangement, the digital medium will also be providing coverage of the Coppa Italia Serie C tournament and Supercoppa Serie C.
As per the deal, overseas viewers will be able to watch 30 games per matchday on the FIFA+ platform. As the league comes towards its business end, all games will eventually be included in the digital portal’s streaming portfolio.
The Italian rights agency, Comintech, played a vital role in locking the deal with FIFA+ to cover the third-tier Italian leagues.
Romy Gai, FIFA’s Chief Business Officer, commented, “We’re delighted to be welcoming Serie C to the FIFA+ platform and continuing to bring a global audience to football from around the world. Serie C harbors some of the best storylines in Italian football.”
Matteo Marani, Lega Pro Chairman, said, “This agreement highlights the international fame of our Lega Pro. We’re happy for supporters and for this new possibility which will broaden the visibility of the brand of the Serie C clubs and their partners.”
FIFA introduced FIFA+ in April 2022 as a direct-to-consumer service that gives users access to a variety of information, such as live games, past schedules, exclusive feature programming, and a live match centre.
