Rivers Hoopers have been handed an invite by the Nigeria Basketball Federation for the 2023 Premier Basketball League.
Hoopers alongside 30 others will face off in the league as they all battle to pick the only available ticket to next year’s Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Sixteen teams have been invited to play in the Atlantic while fifteen will battle it out in the Savannah Conference.
The league will be played in 3 phases; Phase one, Conference finals and Final four. In phase one, the two conferences – Atlantic and Savannah – have been grouped into four divisions and games will be played simultaneously from 21-29 October in different venues.
Atlantic will host eight teams each in Ibadan and Asaba while Savannah Conference will host seven and eight teams in Abuja and Lafia respectively.
The KingsMen will play against Delta Force, Oriental Giants (Awka), Camac (Warri), Lagos Raptors, Police Batons, Lagos Legends and Lagos Warriors in Asaba in a round robin format.
The top four teams in each division will qualify for the Conference Finals scheduled to take place on 4-12 November in a yet-to-be-decided venue.
The best two teams from each conference will advance to the final four and play in a best-of-three games from 20th November.
The Kingsmen are expected to leave Port Harcourt for Asaba on Saturday.
