After a narrow loss to Keisuke Matsumoto by unanimous decision on August 30 in Japan, Nigerian boxer Ridwan “Scorpion” Oyekola will return to the ring against Emmanuel Quartey of Ghana on the 27th of this month in a bout dubbed “Homecoming.”
According to Core Afrique Boxing Promotions, the fight’s promoter, the bout was approved by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C). Other fighters scheduled for the event include Kabiru Towolawi God Son and Chidi Enoma, who will fight in the heavyweight division, while Abudu Ofere will take on Toheeb Wasiu in a heavyweight bout on Sunday.
Adeyemi “Spirit” Adekanla and Joseph Joe A.K.A Oto ‘JOE BOY’ Joseph will slug it out in the Lightweight category respectively.
Other fighters are the stylish Riliwan ‘Baby Face’ Babatunde fighting squaring up against Stephen Agbor in a welterweight contest, as Rasheed ‘Fally Boy’ Adeyemo will face Semiu ‘Jagaban’ Olapade in the Super weight bout. Ibrahim ‘Ibrmo’ Taofeek and Akeem Olamilekan will clash in another Lightweight bout, while two female boxers, Barakat Adebisi and Celina Agwu will face each other.
Boxing lovers, according to the CEO of COABOX, Sola Ayodele, popularly known as Sola Ford, will be treated to a classical boxing experience that will linger for a long time in their memories owing to the quality of fighters lined up for the boxing show dubbed ‘Scorpion Homecoming’.
