Lagos based All Stars team recorded a 19-14 win over Association Sportive du Port Autonome de Cotonou Handball Club ASPAC at the Lagos Handball International Friendly match played at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos.
It was an encounter that gave the home team a run for their money as the Lagos Stars maintained poise firing left and right till they saw the game to the end.
Three teams from Lagos-based clubs comprising Tojemarine Academy, Women and Men All-Stars were all invited to partake in the tourney. Among them are the Nigeria U-18 champions of the International Handball Federation IHF Trophy African Continental Phase in Ivory Coast.
Visiting teams ASPAC Coton HBC (male) and ASPAC Coton HBC (female) are from the Republic of Benin.
Thursday, the Nigeria U-18 female team defeated ASPAC 27-21 in their second game. Having recorded a good outing in their first match against ASPAC HBC 24-21, they are in high spirits for their continental campaign in Tunisia.
Tojemarine (men) shared the spoils with the ASPAC HBC in a game-ending 30-30, While Lagos (female) All-Stars lost to ASPAC Coton HBC (female) 18-29.
