Speaking on Radio MARCA, Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has revealed the role Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham played in helping the Azulones sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United this past summer.

Bellingham arrived at Real Madrid only this past summer and is already one of the main men of Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

The England international’s impact has been the chief driving force behind Real Madrid’s 100% winning start to the new campaign.

It appears that Bellingham has not only helped Real Madrid in the new campaign, but also came to Getafe’s aid during the transfer window.

Bellingham’s role in Greenwood’s loan move
Mason Greenwood has not played football for more than a year as he found himself a suspect in a sexual harassment investigation in Manchester.

Even though the one-time capped England international was cleared of all charges by the court, there was a lot of backlash against the idea of him being reintroduced into the Manchester United team this past summer.

As such, the club and the player made the decision to part ways, at least for now. And while destinations like Italy, Turkey and the Middle East were being talked about, Greenwood made his way to Getafe on a loan deal.

And, Bellingham played a part in it, as revealed by the Azulones manager, Jose Bordalas, who said: “Greenwood is friends with Bellingham and he advised him to come to the Spanish league.”

“We have to be patient, calm and we are helping him and his teammates. He is integrating in a sensational way and hopefully, he can help us,” Bordalas added on Greenwood.

Real Madrid faced Getafe in their first home game of the season right before the international break, but Greenwood did not feature in that match.
