Chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Faoud Oki, has called on youngsters at the ongoing Lagos Football Vacation programme for U-15 boys and girls to exhibit the spirit of patriotism to their fatherland at all times, as this would enable them to be good ambassadors of the country, Nigeria.

The maiden edition of the 2023 Lagos holiday football programme under the stewardship of Fouad Oki will run from 22nd August to 2nd September 2023. The camping is being held at Lagos State Senior Model College, Badore, Ajah.

The chairman paid a visit to the camp Thursday morning to assess the responsiveness of the campers to training. The kids were so excited to see the chairman in their midst.

Speaking after the morning training session, Oki, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State, urged the campers to show empathy to one another. He said it is only then they can begin to show good character as somebody that can be trusted, worked with and reliable.

“At all times you must see the next person like yourself in order to form a formidable team. Believe in yourself and eschew cutting corners as the factors that can lead one to the zenith are hard work and prayers”.

Oki hinted that they need to be patriotic Nigerians as only those who believe in their country that contribute immensely to the development of the society.

He further stated that success is not only limited to football but other areas of human endeavours would be encouraged; anybody that performs excellently in academics will also get rewarded.

The 10-day maiden edition of the Lagos football vacation camp is an initiative designed to keep them off the street and development of football at the grassroots.
