Former captain of Nigeria’s senior women team, the Super Falcons, Asisat Lamina Oshoala (MON) could not hide her admiration of the world class facilities put in place at Remo Stars, a club in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)
The FC Barcelona forward was on a visit to the club in Ikenne, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria at the weekend. The player, who just returned from the FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand was full of praises for the owner and founder of Remo Stars, Kunle Soname, who she said has brough great value to club football in Nigeria.
The five-time African women footballer of the year award winner was so excited that Soname could also float a female club alongside the male team of Remo Stars
During the visit, Oshoala met Remo Stars coach and players and the new Remo stars female football team.
“I am really happy to be here at Remo to meet with the chairman of the club. I could recollect that the chairman sponsored my foundation project in 2016 which today gave birth to so many sponsors in my foundation project. I am also wowed at the level at which football business is being done at Remo State here in Ikenne. The facilities here are world class, from the stadium to the lecture rooms and the gym. I must confess, these are the same we experience and see in Europe, “ Oshoala said.
