The marquee football league in England, Premier League (PL) has announced a new multi-year partnership extension with EA SPORTS FC as a lead partner and official licensee.

The licensing agreement between Premier League and EA SPORTS’ well-known football video game series dates back to the 1998–1999 season, and the company has been a lead partner of the league since the 2016–17 season.

Erling Haaland, Manchester City striker and the 2022–23 Golden Boot winner, unveiled the new EA SPORTS FC 24 game last week at FC Club House in Amsterdam along with representatives from the Premier League.

All 20 Premier League clubs will be tenaciously portrayed in-game, encompassing every club, player, manager, stadium, shirt, and more.

Furthermore, with the introduction of EA SPORTS FC FUTURES, the Premier League and EA SPORTS have also made a long-term commitment to collaborate on the development of community programming, such as school football programmes and funding for grassroots infrastructure.

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters, said, “Through our long-term partnership, the Premier League and EA SPORTS have inspired generations of football fans and we look forward to developing this in the years to come. The new EA SPORTS FC 24 game is a significant evolution which we are proud to be a part of. Beyond this, we will continue to develop existing projects as well as introducing exciting new ones. Thanks to EA SPORTS’ support, the ePremier League tournament has been a major success over the last five seasons and we are now developing community initiatives together across the country and in other locations globally.”

Along with this, the Premier League and EA SPORTS teamed up earlier this year to raise money for the Rocky and Wrighty Arena, a cutting-edge 3G football pitch at Turnham Academy.

The alliance extends its commitment to the international community to New Jersey over this month’s Premier League Summer Series in the United States. The Premier League, EA SPORTS, and the US Soccer Foundation will be installing a mini-pitch at Washington Elementary School in Kearny, New Jersey, giving the neighbourhood’s residents a free opportunity to play football.

The ePremier League, an esports competition that gives fans of the Premier League and EA SPORTS FC the opportunity to earn trophies in support of their beloved clubs, had its fifth edition last year.

The tournament will keep running under the new agreement and become a part of the FC Pro ecosystem.

Cam Weber, President, EA SPORTS, said, “EA SPORTS FC is built on a platform of authenticity and innovation, and our renewed partnership with the Premier League will bring fans closer to their favourite clubs and players. Across the entire EA SPORTS FC ecosystem, the ePremier League, and our shared commitment to investing in community-level football, we’re proud to call the Premier League our partner both on and off the pitch.”
