Lionel Messi’s iconic #10 shirt was the hottest commodity at his official presentation with Inter Miami on Sunday night.
The adidas shirt was on sale at the stadium for a hefty $199 dollars.
Messi didn’t put on his new shirt
When it came time for Messi to be unveiled in front of the thousands of fans present at DRV PNK Stadium, the Argentine superstar opted to keep it casual (and promote his brand) by wearing jeans with a white shirt from his new collection with adidas.
However, fans got a glimpse of the soccer legend with the full Inter Miami kit via the club when they shared a video of a recent greeting between Messi and David Beckham.
The variations of Inter Miami’s uniform
Inter Miami fans who want to purchase a Messi shirt can do so in one of the three variations available to the public: the primary white home jersey, the “Heart Beat” pink, and the “La Noche” black jersey with pink details.
Inter Miami C.F. first showed off Lionel Messi’s shirt in its “La Noche” variation on July 11th, and since then, fans have been dying to get their hands on it.
Because the shirt with Messi’s name and number isn’t available yet on the official site in any variation, fans in attendance at the official presentation were some of the first to be able to purchase one for their collection.
It is expected that Messi’s shirt sales will break the all-time MLS sales record.
So far, the best-selling shirt of 2023 has been LAFC’s Carlos Vela’s #11 shirt.
